OIS provides for career counselling and is in liaison with various International universities.
School guidance counselors play a significant role in the lives and futures of the students they work with. As a guidance counselor, she will provide insight and direction for students as they grow.
The College Counselor at the school is responsible for guiding all aspects of the college search and admissions process, including the following
- Educating students and parents about the colleges in India and abroad, the college admissions process, current trends, procedures and testing; advising and supporting the students as they go through the process; and helping them aspire realistically and choose wisely.
- Meeting the students, individually as well as groups, to talk about the process and individual college choices. The Counselor also advises the 9th and 10th graders on curricular choices, and works with international students to understand college admissions, especially aspects unique to them.
- Meeting all college admissions representatives who visit our campus and arrange sessions between college representatives and our students. The College Counselor also serves as a liaison with College admissions offices throughout the year.
- The College Counselor writes an official school recommendation for each student and for this, the Counselor gathers information from parents, teachers, school records, and students themselves. The College Counselor also completes all School Report and mid-year report forms requested by colleges, including evaluations of students. He/She coordinates with the other teachers also who need to provide the recommendations from students.
- Acts as lead advisor to the senior class as a whole and advising several individual seniors each year, providing academic counseling. In addition to working with senior class on class events, class meetings provide an opportunity to disseminate information about the college application process.
- Keeping track of admission decisions and statistics, and making a report to the Principal.
- The counselor is generally aware of issues and changes in college admission, higher education, testing, as well as keeping up-to-date about specific colleges .Maintaining and disseminating information about standardized tests
- Apart from organizing the university fairs, we have also registered ourselves as a centre for conducting the Cambridge Assessment Tests like the TSA, BMAT and ELAT. These are the tests required to apply to the top universities of UK.
- COUNCIL OF INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS (CIS) FAIR: 15 Canadian universities visited the OIS campus to provide an overview of the Canadian Education System with a presentation University Of British Columbia, Carleton University, Dalhousie University, Mc.Gill University to name a few.

16 USA Universities and 1 UK University as a part of the LINDEN TOUR visited OIS to provide insight on the USA Education System. Universities like Fairleigh Dickinson University, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Savannah Institute Of Art And Design besides others were part of the fair.
SAT Workshop for IBDP Students
SAT workshops are conducted for the students of Grade XI and XII (IBDP) .They act as route maps for the students, not only in preparing them for the SAT Test but also an answer to all their queries related to complex admission procedures in various competitive Universities around the world.
